Steeped in the rich history of the Syilx (Okanagan) people, West Kelowna is a vine-laden lake side valley with an abundance of beauty and entertainment to offer!
Hiking is also popular in the area, as there are numerous parks—such as Glen Canyon Regional Park and Bear Creek Provincial Park—that provide expansive trail networks, with frozen waterfalls and some of the most breathtaking views of the Okanagan Valley.
For those who are cross-country skiing and snowshoe enthusiasts, Telemark Nordic Club, which welcomes dogs on their trails, is a mere 20 minutes from our West Kelowna accommodations. The bigger and internationally recognised Silver Star Mountain Resort near Vernon, and Big White Ski Resort, just west of Kelowna, are only 60 minutes away. Each resort is home to over 100 runs, and other snow activities including skiing, tubing, ice climbing and dog sledding. Further afield, 90 minutes south of West Kelowna, is Apex Mountain which offers an abundance of family-fun activities.
Prefer to watch hockey? Live like a local and take the family to attend a West Kelowna Warriors hockey game at the Royal Le Page arena, or put your skating skills to the test and get on the ice at the Jim Lind Arena.
At the end of your day, wind down and enjoy an evening at many of the award-winning West Kelowna wineries: Mission Hill; Indigenous World Winery and Quails’ Gate, where you can grab $5 appies Monday to Friday, 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
